Announcing the Eumetcal Flash workshop
Do not miss this unique opportunity to learn the basics of FLASH.
Eumetcal offers you
top-level instructors and an efficient learning environment
to let you move your first steps in building distance learning
modules.
Flash workshop is also very interesting for those developing
web-based meteorological applications or realizing web
pages.
Introduction
The Eumetcal Flash workshop will take place
9 -11 December 2009. The course will be
the first offered by Eumetcal on this topic and will be run in the
Deutschen Wetterdienstes (DWD) training facilities in
Langen, Germany (20 km south of
Frankfurt).
What is Flash
If you browse the Internet to learn more about flash you will
get something like: “FLASH is an authoring environment widely used
in creating e- and distance learning solutions related to
environmental sciences (meteorology, oceanography, climatology,
etc.)”.
n case you really want to know what actually Flash is and how it
will allow you to improve your skills and possibilities as a
trainer please have a glance at the following examples made
entirely with Flash:
Target audience
We are seeking people involved in meteorological training who
have a strong interest in developing e- and distance learning
material within their affiliations.
On the other hand also those developing web-based meteorological
applications or simply web pages could largely benefit the Flash
workshop.
Prerequisites
- Strong interests in creating e- and distance learning
material
- Current working position heavily involved in training
- Working knowledge in the English language
Outcomes of the workshop
After the workshop the participants are encouraged to apply
their Flash skills to relevant distance and e-learning educational
projects within their affiliations or in connection to Eumetcal
Programme’s activities.
The successful participant will not walk away an expert after the
workshop, but will learn enough to start working independently or
under the supervision of more experienced people.
Software and licenses
During the workshop they will work on PCs already equipped
with the needed software.
Afterwards the acquisition of a full Adobe Flash CS4 license to be
installed and used within the affiliation of origin can be
discussed with the instructors and the Eumetcal management. One of
the most important outcomes is the effective use and further
development of the skills learned in the workshop once back to
work.
The instructors
The instructors of the course have used Flash for several
years in their work for designing multimedia solutions used in
distance learning and blended e-learning material.
