The Robbery at Robinson'sGame-based Learning

This is an exercise with a game illustrating physics at a high school level. The aim of this online assignment is to
    a) illustrate the significance of guidance for eLearning
    b) demonstrate different eLearning tools (here you will use Moodle and an interactive flash module)
After you have completed this assignment there will be a short discussion on how you experienced this web exercise.

Introduction

This module is a mystery involving a robbery at the Robinson's. You will need to use your knowledge of physics to solve this puzzle. Going through this module will also show you how important peer support and proper guidance is for completing independent learning assignments.

If you run out of time, don't be afraid to jump ahead for an answer but try to figure each one out for yourself. Get a pen and paper in front of you before you begin!

Conclusion

The purpose of this exercise and workshop was to show an example of increasing the effectiveness of your eLearning resources. Generally speaking, the principles of effetive eLearning are considered to be:
  • Interaction
  • Usability
  • Relevance (authenticity)
Here Moodle provides interaction, usability is taken into consideration during the design process and relevance is addressed, but due to the time constraint and the very heterogenous crowd, it is left to smaller attention.
