MeteoCAL Workshop 29-31 October 2007

6th MeteoCAL workshop

The sixth Meteocal workshop is around the corner. Here you find an attachment with a first proposal for the programme, open to any remarks or suggestions. We intend to devote the first part (Monday) to an introduction for newcomers to Meteocal (exercise, tips and tricks, basic working technique) and planning for module creation. Then, on Wednesday and Thursday, different teams will create the chapters of the module.

What module? All are invited to propose a topic of interest (study cases, radar, water vapour imagery,etc.). Then we will decide on the topic in time to collect relevant materials before the workshop.

Please confirm your participation or that of a colleague to both Wilfried Jacobs (DWD) and José Prieto (EUMETSAT) by Friday 21th September. On request, the trip costs can be reimbursed, together with the perdiem, so that funding should not be an impediment to anybody’s participation. If the number of registrations exceeds a dozen, we will apply selection criteria based on previous attendance. A final list of participants will be issued before the end of September.

The idea is to hold one of these meetings early every year to keep productive work in this direction. We have a maintenance company under contract in Darmstadt helping us with technical developments.

Regards,

José Prieto jose.prieto()eumetsat.int
