The Satellite Image Interpretation and Applications Course will
Based on the importance of nowcasting fog, dust and forest fires, a second period on online lectures will start at beginning of September. During these lectures international experts will explain tools which will increase your skills in nowcasting using satellite data. In addition, the use of satellite data for sea weather forecasts will be explained. The lectures and the course end on October, the 28th.
The course is designed for operational forecasters and meets the competencies defined within the WMO framework.
Eumetcal and EUMeTrain invite member institutions to send to the course applicants who have strong interest in satellite meteorology and will to transfer the knowledge and skills achieved in the course to the fellow colleagues in his/her institution.
Format of the course
the course starts 10 June and ends 28 October, with a summer break in July-August.
Course fee and registration
The course fee will be €1000 per student. Each Eumetcal member institution is eligible to one course fee sponsorship kindly granted by EUMETSAT.
