The Eumetcal Aviation Weather Course will take place in October-November 2012. This course will offer training in communication with aviation users and is a follow-up course of the last year’s introductory course, including both old and new material. The main goal of the course is both to improve the skills in communicating and understanding the needs of aviation users. It is addressed to support one of the five top competencies for aeronautical forecasters defined by WMO. The course is coordinated by the Finnish Meteorological Institute in collaboration with Eumetcal.
FORMAT
This course will be completely online. It will include online lectures and discussions, active participation in forum discussions, reading material, use of web-resources and aviation customer interviews, off-line assignments and quizzes.
COURSE DATES
The course will take place 15 October - 30 November, with online sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Area controller and meteorology
APP controller and meteorology
Tower controller and meteorology
Military pilot and meteorology
Helicopter pilot and meteorology
Executive airline pilot and meteorology
Experienced glider pilot and meteorology
Experienced balloonist and meteorology
Airport operation manager and meteorology
Airfield maintenance and meteorology

The results of the selection process will be announced on October 2.
The course fee is 500 EUR. Eumetcal will sponsor up to 3 participants from each member organization.
