CALMet IX, 2011, Pretoria, South Africa
CALMet IX, 2011 will be hosted in the main campus of the University of Pretoria (South Africa), in co-operation with the South African Weather Service, one of the leading weather services in Africa, 3-8 October 2011.
Since 1993, CALMet has been a forum to share experiences, expectations, and new ideas for applying emerging strategies for meteorology and hydrology education and training. The conference provides opportunities for learning from others who work both within and outside these disciplines, from professionals who all face similar challenges and share a similar passion for improving their practice.
The conference committee have received a fair amount of proposals for presentations and workshops for the conference. Proposals cover particularly topics on innovative learning activities, learning and instructional theory, educational resource collections, collaborative projects and virtual teams, competency-based training, new instructional technologies, training program management, and the evolving training and education needs of meteorology and hydrology professionals.
Proposal submissions are now closed. Acknowledgment of acceptance of proposals will be sent in early June to allow sufficient time for requesting travel funds and visas.
The registration for the conference will open in June.
