Second announcement of 10th Eumetcal workshop on Advancing numerical weather prediction training and education

We are pleased to announce that we have opened the registration and abstract/proposal submission (deadline 30 April 2015) to the 10th Eumetcal Workshop on ’Advancing numerical weather prediction training and education’. The workshop is jointly held with ECMWF, in Reading, UK 15-18 June 2015.

Numerical Weather Prediction models and products are continually developing in response to societal needs. The workshop aims to bring together the academic, forecasting and training communities to discuss about future training needs and solutions in order to improve the support to staff of operational services to meet future duties and requirements.

We will focus on three themes:

• Changes in numerical weather predictions, services and role of forecasters
• Mapping NWP education and training strategies today and tomorrow
• The avant-garde (demonstrations / experimental techniques)
